Job Title: Asphalt Paving Laborer
Reports to: Paving General Superintendent
Overview: Will perform tasks involving physical labor relating to pavement, resurfacing and repair of streets, parking lots and alleys using hot asphalt materials. Will operate one or several types of maintenance equipment.
Responsible for:
• General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching, or prep crews.
• Shoveling, raking, wheelbarrowing dirt, gravel, and asphalt
• Handling power tools, cut off saws, plate tamps, etc.
• Cleaning up equipment as needed
• Signaling Equipment Operators of alignment and movement of materials
• Assisting in placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices
• Other duties as requested.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• High School diploma/GED
• OSHA 10- hour card
• Minimum 2 years related experience or equivalent role.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Sound understanding of workplace safety.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to continuously stand or walk.
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs/ladders frequently.
• Ability to lift to 75 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions: heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
Work Environment:
• May frequently work in temperatures above 100 degrees.
• May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Will climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces.
• Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
• Required to wear Fahs issued hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses.
• Reliable transportation required.
