WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT
As a Site Operator at Fahs Construction Group, you’ll be a key part of our construction team, performing essential work across various commercial job sites. You’ll operate a diverse range of heavy construction equipment — from excavators to pavers — ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. In this role, you can expect to:
- Perform physical labor and operate heavy equipment on active job sites
- Safely handle machines used for grading, excavation, paving, demolition, and more
- Conduct daily safety inspections and routine maintenance on equipment
- Follow crew signals for maneuvering machinery and proper loading/unloading
- Interpret and apply ground disturbance protocols
- Complete fine grading, sloping, ditching, and backfilling tasks
- Operate on both public and private roads with safety awareness
- Maintain a clean, lubricated, and fully functional equipment fleet
- Train newer operators on safe and efficient equipment use
- Follow all job-site safety protocols and company procedures
- Travel between Fahs job sites as needed
HOW DO YOU KNOW TO APPLY
You’re a great fit for this role if you bring the right combination of hands-on experience, safety training, and a team-oriented attitude.
Knowledge and Skills:
- High School diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Valid driver’s license
- 2–3 years of proven experience operating various construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, rollers, skid steers, and pavers
- Familiarity with safety inspection and preventative maintenance procedures
Qualitative and Personal Attributes:
- Physically and mentally fit for the demands of construction work
- Comfortable lifting up to 100 lbs and working in outdoor conditions ranging from hot summers to cold winters
- Effective communicator with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrates solid time management and decision-making under pressure
- Willing and able to travel between multiple job sites
- Works well independently and collaboratively within a crew
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe worksite
- Brings a can-do attitude and a high level of reliability
Physical & Work Environment
- Continuous standing/walking, frequent bending, squatting, climbing
- May walk on uneven or slippery surfaces and work in all weather conditions
- Regular exposure to loud noise from heavy equipment
- Climbing ladders required
- Required PPE includes Fahs-issued hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses
- Reliable transportation to job sites is necessary
