Overview:
FAHS Construction is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects and contribute to the building of essential structures in our communities. As a Laborer, you will be involved in multiple aspects of construction, from site preparation to assisting skilled tradespeople.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical labor tasks at assigned job sites
- Operate hand and power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, and mechanical hoists
- Clean and prepare job sites, including digging trenches and setting supports for excavations
- Erect scaffolding and clear rubble and debris from construction areas
- Assist craft construction workers in various tasks
- Lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
- Follow safe work practices to ensure a safe job site
- Perform other construction-related duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience or equivalent role
- OSHA 10 Certification required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Good time management and decision-making abilities
- Willingness to travel to multiple FAHS construction sites
- Physically and mentally fit for the demands of construction work
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Frequent bending, squatting, and climbing of stairs/ladders
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs regularly
Work Environment:
- Work in temperatures above 100°F and below 32°F at times
- Navigate slippery or uneven surfaces
- Climb ladders and work at elevated heights
- Frequent loud noise exposure
- Required to wear FAHS-issued safety gear, including hard hat, safety vest, and safety glasses
- Reliable transportation required
