Project Name: Route 96, Owego Bridge Replacement
Location:  Owego, NY

Description: Construction of an 1135 foot, seven span “under-deck truss” high performance core 10 steel bridge spanning the Susquehanna River. There were five piers located in the river and the sixth pier is located on the South shore next to State Route 17.
The concrete for the bridge deck, sidewalk, barriers and pylons consisted of a special lightweight aggregate. The concrete for the piers and abutments was high performance and treated with an architectural pattern and stain to look like laid up stone. A total of 6,900 cubic yards of concrete was placed, the total reinforcing steel was 450 tons and the structural steel weighed over 1300 tons.
